Do you ship DDP? Who pays import VAT and customs for the UK, Switzerland and Norway?

Updated Shipping & delivery By the Fabrixa support team

Short answer

Not at the moment. Outside the EU we deliver to the UK, Switzerland and Norway on a DAP basis (Delivered At Place), not DDP: the recipient receives the parcel and handles import VAT and customs clearance themselves, and a carrier customs-clearance charge of around €30 per shipment applies on top of the shipping rate.

Within the EU there are no customs. Full DDP is something we're looking into but haven't set up yet. If it's essential that your customers see no charges at delivery, our current setup probably isn't the right fit, and a partner already set up for DDP may suit you better. An alternative on our side is ordering in bulk to a single in-country address and handling fulfilment from there; for Switzerland we can provide the EUR.1 certificate to simplify the import.
