How to order printed fabric by the metre.
Fabric by the metre is uncut cloth bought by length instead of as a finished product: you choose the base, supply the artwork, and receive printed fabric on the roll to cut and sew yourself. All seven Fabrixa bases are available per metre, printed to order from a single metre, with no batch minimum and no setup fee.
Start with the base and the width
Fabrics per metre are ordered by base, not by garment. Gauze at 145 cm for scarves and baby products, jersey at 155 cm for everyday apparel, percale and sateen at bedding widths, half panama at 180 cm for cushions and curtains, French Terry at 195 cm — the widest roll in the range. Width decides how much you lose on the cutting table, so choose it before you choose the pattern.
The rate per metre steps down as you scale
Per-metre pricing is tier-based and visible before you order: register, pick the fabric, enter your length, and the price per metre appears instantly with the volume tier already applied. One metre and five hundred metres run through the same catalogue — the rate changes, the process doesn’t.
It arrives as cloth, on rolls
Printed rolls dispatch in 5–7 business days from production in Portugal and Spain, wound on cardboard cores in 30–50 m batches so the fabric arrives without crease marks. Colour is Pantone-anchored, so a re-order of the same design matches the previous batch.

What is the minimum fabric order?
One metre. Fabric is cut to your spec from 1 m, and volume tiers apply automatically on larger runs.
Which fabric bases are available?
Seven premium bases across fashion weight, home weight and heavy weight — cotton and linen for reactive print, on rolls of 130–195 cm width.
Why does the same design look different on different bases?
Reactive dye resolves differently per weave — percale prints matte and crisp, sateen more saturated, half panama textured. The Sample Pack covers every base so you can compare before ordering.
Do you print on viscose or silk?
No — cotton and linen (reactive) and polyester (sublimation) only. Where you see "silk-touch" it describes the feel of cotton sateen, not actual silk.
How fast does fabric dispatch?
Printed rolls dispatch in 5–7 business days, shipped on rolls to avoid crease marks.
How much does it cost to have fabric printed?
Pricing is per metre and instant: the price shows in the catalog and in the Tier Finder before you order, from one metre, with no setup fee and no screen or plate costs. Volume tiers step the price down automatically as your monthly metres grow. French Terry is the heaviest and priciest base.
Printed fabric currently starts at €7.95 per metre.
Can I print fabric myself, or should I have it printed?
For a one-off you can, with transfer foil or screen printing. For anything sold under a brand, industrial reactive printing is the better route: the dye bonds into the cotton fibre, so the fabric stays soft, prints edge to edge and survives 600+ washes. From one metre, that is what Fabrixa does.
How do I get my design onto fabric?
Upload your artwork as a repeat or a placed print, choose the base and the number of metres, and order. The file is printed reactively, steam-fixed, washed and dispatched on a roll in 5 to 7 business days. The artwork checklist covers resolution, colour profile and bleed.
