- What resolution should a full fabric panel file be?The editor caps artwork at 15,000 px on the longest side.
- How should I design personalised products (names, dates, faces)? We print the fabric first and then cut and sew, so we can't guarantee exact alignment of a pattern across the seams.
- Can I add my logo to the product?Yes. Your own logo printed onto the product is simply part of your artwork and costs nothing extra.
- How do I try Fabrixa Studio? You can try it out here: https://www.fabrixa.com/products/apparel/ — find a product, scroll down and click the orange "Open Fabrixa Studio" button.
- What printing technology do you use?We use industrial reactive all-over printing on cotton for our apparel (made in Portugal) and cotton home textiles (made in Spain), and sublimation and pigment printing on home textiles made in the Netherlands and Spain.
- Can a yoga mat be engraved or printed on both sides? No. We don't engrave: the mat is polyester printed by sublimation, so logos and text are printed into the surface rather than cut or engraved.
- Can I put just a small image on a garment? Is it cheaper? The image doesn't have to cover the whole garment: placement is completely free in the editor, so a single photograph sitting centrally on the chest is fine.
- Can each metre carry a different design?Yes. Each panel (full width × 1 metre) can carry its own artwork rather than a repeat, so distinct images per metre are possible.
- How does the repeat work on fabric by the metre?Fabric by the metre is printed in panels: the full fabric width × 1 metre of length is the repeat unit, and the roll is that panel repeated end to end (20 m is twenty panels).
- Will a mostly single-colour design print evenly? With reactive printing, designs where a single colour covers most of the product carry a slightly higher risk of print irregularities, such as subtle banding or uneven colour density.
- Who owns the artwork I upload? You do. You upload your own artwork and keep full ownership of it; we use it only to make and fulfil your orders.
- Can I order plain, solid-colour products?Technically yes, but our cotton range is printed with industrial reactive all-over print, which is built for full-coverage designs rather than plain solid colours.
- How do transparent areas in a PNG print?Transparent areas of a PNG print as white.
- Can you get a deep, saturated black on jersey and knits?Yes. For our Portuguese-made apparel and knits by the metre, a dedicated reactive black dye is used for more intense blacks, and the mercerisation and anti-pilling treatments the fabric receives before printing contribute to a deeper black and a higher-quality finish.
- How are curtains printed and made?We print the fabric first and then cut and sew, using industrial all-over print.
- How do I design for a fixed finished size, like a 100 × 100 cm piece?Design the artwork at the full panel size (the full fabric width × 100 cm) and place your finished area inside it.
- Can I order plain undyed white sheeting?Plain white is not what our process is built for.
- What colour profile should my print files use?Use RGB, preferably sRGB with the profile embedded.
- What print file size do I need for the yoga mat?Prepare the print file at around 68 × 181 cm, which includes 4 cm of bleed on each side of the 60 × 173 cm mat.
- Can I scale my pattern in the design tool for fabric by the metre? Not yet. For fabric by the metre, the printed size of a motif depends directly on the size of the file you upload; it isn't possible to enlarge or reduce it in the design tool.
- Can I see a proof before my order is printed? There's no separate proofing step or proofing service, but Fabrixa Studio shows your design on the product in 3D as you build it.
- Is Fabrixa Studio mobile-friendly?Yes, Fabrixa Studio is now mobile-friendly.
- Can you cut the fabric into my individual print panels? No. Fabric by the metre ships on rolls, and we don't cut to individual print fields, so you'd cut your pieces on your side.
- Why didn’t my design from the website editor save? The editor on the public website is a demonstration so new visitors can see the design process; it doesn't save work.
- Will my pattern line up across seams? The fabric is printed first and then cut and sewn, so exact pattern alignment across panels and seams can't be guaranteed.
- Will my uploaded artwork be kept confidential?Yes. Your uploaded files are not published, shared with other customers, licensed or used for marketing.
