WooCommerce print on demand works by connecting your WooCommerce store to a production partner, so every paid order routes straight into printing, packing and dispatch with no manual hand-off. With Fabrixa there is no minimum order (MOQ 1), no setup fee and no contract, so you can automate from your very first sale.
Below: what to connect, what gets automated, and what to check before you go live.
How WooCommerce print on demand works
A customer checks out on your WooCommerce store. The order is passed to Fabrixa, which prints it, packs it and ships it under your brand. You manage sales channels, designs, production and dispatch from one dashboard rather than juggling spreadsheets and emails.
Because you only pay for what customers actually buy, there is no stock to hold and no bulk run to fund up front.
What you can automate
| Step | Manual approach | Automated with Fabrixa |
|---|---|---|
| Order intake | Copy order details into an email or form | Orders flow from your store into production |
| Print files | Prepare production files yourself | You send artwork; Fabrixa creates the correct print files |
| Production | Brief a printer per order | Printed and packed to order, from 1 piece |
| Dispatch | Repack and relabel stock | White-label parcels with your return address |
| Status updates | Chase for tracking | Order status visible in your dashboard |
Step 1: Connect your WooCommerce store
Link your store to Fabrixa so new orders reach production the moment they are paid. WooCommerce and Shopify are the two store connections; a custom API is available for bespoke builds. The full walk-through: connecting Shopify or WooCommerce to EU production.
Step 2: Add your products and artwork
Choose what you want to sell, from apparel such as T-shirts, hoodies and dresses to home textiles such as cushions and curtains. Send your artwork as a PDF, TIFF, JPG or PNG. You do not need to prepare production files: Fabrixa creates the correct print files for the product and fabric base.
Want shoppers to personalise products? Fabrixa Studio is an embeddable customiser that runs on your storefront as an iframe, and the saved design attaches to the order. Where it fits: the Fabrixa platform overview.
Step 3: Automate with the integration API
If you want more control than a standard connection, the Integration API (v2) lets your own systems create and track orders. It uses two-header authentication, allows 30 requests per minute, and sends webhooks for order.created and order.updated so your store can react to status changes. The technical detail: the integration guide.
Why automate your WooCommerce orders
Manual order handling works for the first few sales and then becomes the bottleneck. Every copied address and every re-sent file is a chance for a mistake, and every hour spent on admin is an hour not spent on design and marketing. Automating the hand-off means your store keeps selling while production runs in the background.
It also keeps your costs predictable. You are not buying stock in advance, so the cost of each order is the unit price of what the customer bought. That makes it easier to test new designs, drop products that do not sell and grow at the pace your customers set, from one piece to tens of thousands.
Step 4: Test before you launch
Order one piece yourself. With a minimum order of 1, a test costs a single unit, not a production run. Check the colour, the feel of the print and the packaging. Apparel made in Portugal typically ships in roughly 6–9 business days. Production is across Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands.
WooCommerce launch checklist

- Artwork sent: PDF, TIFF, JPG or PNG for each design.
- Test order placed: one piece received and checked.
- Order flow confirmed: a paid order appears in production without manual steps.
- Branding checked: white-label dispatch confirmed before real orders ship.
