The base material
Two cotton weights, two seasons. One AOP process.
T-shirt dresses use 160 GSM woven organic cotton — light, breathable, the spring-summer workhorse. Hoodie and sweater dresses use 330 GSM cotton jersey — substantial drape, oversized cuts that hold their shape, weight that carries the silhouette without clinging.
Both bases pass through the same three industrial finishing stages used on every Fabrixa cotton garment — mercerized, enzyme-washed, sanforized. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (Class I) and GOTS certified end-to-end.

Mercerized
Tighter weave, brighter colour
Cotton fibres treated under tension — increases strength, softens handfeel, improves dye bond. Critical for full-bleed AOP across a long dress silhouette.

Enzyme-washed
Soft from day one
Cellulase enzymes break down surface fuzz. The dress arrives pre-softened — no scratchy first-wear, no stiff returns.

Sanforized
No surprise shrinkage
Mechanically pre-shrunk under controlled steam. After the first wash the dress keeps its length and fit. “It shrunk” returns disappear.
The print
Reactive AOP across the full garment, hem to neckline.
Dresses live or die by their print — a faded back panel is a returned dress. Industrial reactive printing chemically bonds dye into the cotton fibre; the colour becomes part of the fabric, not a layer on top. No plastic feel, no cracking at the seams, no peeling along the hem after twenty washes.

Wash & care

Translated to your destination market and printed on the inside-neck label. Recommendation for end customers:

Cool to warm machine wash. Inside-out preserves AOP edges along the hem and seams.

Low heat preserves elasticity on heavier sweater and hoodie dresses.

Inside-out on low. Steam acceptable. Avoid direct contact with the print.
Production & delivery

Dresses run the same line as tees and hoodies. The dress that ships to a one-off order ships to a 2,000-unit drop — only the queue position changes. Custom labels and care-label translation are included by default.

Print & fix
Pre-treatment, digital reactive print, steam fixation. Colour bonds into cotton across the full dress panel.
Day 3–4
Wash & finish
Excess dye removed under OEKO-TEX-compliant water treatment. Fabric stabilised and dried.
Day 5–7
Cut & sew
Cut to spec across women’s and girls’ sizes. Sewn under EU labour standards. Custom labels added if specified.
Day 8–9
QC & dispatch
Quality check, white-label packaging, dispatch from Portugal. Tracking via webhook.
