FRENCH TERRY 220 · HALF PANAMA 200 · PORTUGAL & SPAIN · REACTIVE PRINT
Two heavy bases for two completely different verticals.
Heavy Weight is where Fabrics per Meter splits across two production hubs. French Terry is the streetwear-fashion fabric — produced in Portugal, on the same line as our hoodie and sweat finished SKUs, knitted with a smooth face and looped back. Half Panama is the home-textile fabric — produced in Spain, woven, structured, used for cushions, curtains, table linens, tote bags. Both reactive-printed. Both heavy enough to hold shape under cut-and-sew.
100% cotton in basket-weave (Half Panama) construction. Strong, textured, visually substantial. The Spanish decor workhorse. Best for: cushions, table textiles, curtains, tote bags, upholstery, structured home accessories.
Every Heavy Weight base, with full specs.
French Terry MOQ is 1 metre. Half Panama batches at 30 metres. Both reactive-printed, shipped on rolls.
| Base | Composition | Weight | Roll width | Production hub | Batch / MOQ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium French Terry | 100% cotton French Terry | 220 g/m² | 195 cm | Portugal | 1 m |
| Premium Decor Half Panama | 100% cotton Half Panama | 200 g/m² | 140 cm | Spain | 30 m batch |
French Terry pricing is quote-based per project. Half Panama has disclosed wholesale pricing — see the pricing section below. Both fabrics ship on cardboard rolls (Half Panama on rolls of 30–50 metres).
A knitted streetwear fabric and a woven decor fabric, side by side.
French Terry is a knit construction with a smooth face and a looped back — the loops trap warmth without bulk, the smooth face accepts full-bleed AOP cleanly. At 220 g/m² it’s the streetwear fabric for hoodies, sweatshirts, and joggers in their finished form.
Half Panama is a woven construction in a basket weave — tighter than canvas, more textured than poplin. At 200 g/m² it’s heavy enough to hold shape on a sofa, on a table, in a curtain panel, on a tote-bag handle. The textured face shows through reactive print, giving the printed surface a tactile quality flat-printed polyester can’t match.
220 g/m², knit, looped back
Portuguese cotton French Terry. Knitted construction with a smooth face for AOP and a looped back for warmth, breathability, and structure. The fabric input behind every premium hoodie or sweatshirt sold under your label. 195 cm wide — broad enough for full-front AOP without panel seaming, even on oversized cuts.
200 g/m², woven, basket weave
Spanish cotton Half Panama. Woven basket-weave structure — the structural backbone of European decor textiles. Strong, breathable, takes reactive print with depth and clarity. 140 cm wide. The default fabric input for cushions, tablecloths, curtains, tote bags, and upholstery panels.
Same reactive process on knit and woven, identical colour fidelity.
Reactive dye chemistry chemically bonds colour into cotton fibres. On a knitted French Terry, you get crisp face print plus a loop-back that softens the garment without affecting the show side. On a woven Half Panama, you get the same reactive saturation with the basket-weave texture showing through — a print quality flat-printed polyester home textiles can’t replicate.
- Deep colour saturation across heavy 200–220 g/m² weights
- Soft cotton handfeel preserved — no plastic surface
- Wash durability typically 600+ cycles before measurable fade
- Pantone-matchable on request — talk to sales for colour-critical projects
- Same dye chemistry across both heavy bases — consistent colour result
- Custom artwork to your file (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, raster, vector)
Two production hubs. Two batch formats. Same on-the-roll dispatch.
French Terry is sold by the metre with no batch minimum — a sample length of 5 m and a 1,000 m production order go through the same workflow. Half Panama runs in 30-metre minimum batches because of its decor-textile production cycle — rolls dispatch on 30 to 50-metre cardboard cores.
1 metre
Sample lengths from 1 m. Same MOQ as Fashion Weight bases — produced on the same Portuguese line.
30 metres
Half Panama runs in 30-metre minimum batches. Reflects the home-textile production cycle in Spain. Multiple-batch orders ship as separate rolls of 30–50 m.
140 / 195 cm
140 cm Half Panama (decor cuts), 195 cm French Terry (full-front hoodie / sweatshirt cuts without panel seaming).
Pre-shrunk
Cotton bases are pre-conditioned (mercerised, enzyme-washed where applicable, pre-shrunk) so post-print dimensional change is minimal.
Two production hubs. SLA varies by metres + queue.
French Terry runs in Portugal alongside our hoodie and sweatshirt finished-goods line. Half Panama runs in Spain alongside our cushion and table-linen finished-goods line. Both share the same dispatch infrastructure for EU and outside-EU delivery.
Production timeline
Dispatch & delivery
Heavy Weight feeds two completely different production verticals.
In-house hoodie production
Independent streetwear labels cutting hoodies, sweatshirts, and joggers in-house. Source French Terry rolls with custom AOP, run on the brand’s own cut-and-sew — full design control with the same Portuguese cotton spec we use for our finished SKUs.
Structured casualwear
Established fashion houses building structured casualwear lines — oversized hoodies, drop-shoulder sweats, relaxed-fit joggers. 195 cm width handles full-bleed AOP across oversized cuts without seaming.
Cushions, curtains, table linen
Home-textile cut-and-sew teams using Half Panama as the structural input. Source rolls of 30–50 m, cut to cushion / panel / runner specs in-house, ship under your label. Disclosed pricing simplifies costing.
Tote bags, upholstery panels
Manufacturers building printed tote bags, fabric panels, soft furnishings. Half Panama’s textured weave and 200 g/m² weight handle handles, straps, and structural panels well.
Half Panama is published. French Terry is quote-based.
Premium Decor Half Panama has disclosed wholesale pricing — the published rate runs across all volume tiers, with custom contracts available at scale. Premium French Terry is quote-driven per project (volume tier, artwork complexity, finishing).
